We are considering purchasing a 2004 MDX base model within a month.
We live in Edison,New Jersey. Are there any recent MDX buyers from this area who can provide how much over invoice or under MSRP they paid for their 2004 MDX?

Thanks,
Aprajit

Aprajit,
I live in the same area as you do, and I have a 2003 X. Bought it from Montclair Acura at MSRP...at that time I had to wait for about 3 months, and no dealers in our area were willing to go under MSRP...infact some wanted more than MSRP.

Montclair Acura were pretty good...Precision Acura in Princeton are also pretty good...and they were offering MSRP also. Open Road Acura in East Brunswick wanted like 3K over MSRP, and the people were not very pleasant and welcoming when I went there.

These days I believe, you should be able to get 1-1.5K under MSRP here. You could do a search here, and find several people's experiences on their 2004 X purchase.

All the best !

I would try Park Avenue Acura in Paramus.

I bought mine at Precison Acura, Lawrenceville. The experience was very good. Would definately recommend a visit.

I also had a good experience at Precision. Made my deal first, then brought in the trade. Was surprised to get better than KBB on the trade. I'd say you should include them in your search. Take a folder with you with all the documentation. CR Report, invoice, holdbacks etc. This way they know you mean business and you know where to start from. Always start from invoice less any holdbacks. Don't ever start from MSRP and work down. They should also throw in the "protection package". That's the rubber Acura Mats all around, the cargo liner, and the wheel locks.

Dealt with Denville Acura.... very good experience.. since it's a smaller dealership, your sales person will handle the entire process from beginning to end without sending you to 2 or 3 different people.

I bought my fully loaded X (Touring w/NAV and RES) in February. I also added 2 dealer installed options: the tow package and running boards.
I shopped around the immediate areas and this was the price range I got:

45,535 Acura of Ocean
45,288 Acura of Manhattan
44,542 Montclair Acura
43,922 Precision Acura of Princeton
43,300 Open Road Acura E.Brunswick

Open Road was the best by a big margin and they're also the closest so service will be convenient. Not as good a price as I would have liked but at least I paid less than msrp and I was able to get the discontinued MBP color!

They were one of the quickest to respond during my internet search at Acura.com and Edmunds.com
They promised to get me an X with the equipment and color that I wanted in 2 weeks and I got an email on the 12th day.
The Internet Sales guy, Mike Vicidomini was courteous and always responded to my emails promptly.
Their showroom is stunning and the service dept. is clean, spacious and organized. I had a good sales experience and my first trip to the service dept was quick and painless. The technician knew exactly what to check and took care of it immediately. (missing fuse problem w/hitch wiring harness). Feel free to contact Mike and tell him I sent you: inlm_email@ebizmail.honda.com

Greetings all. Looking to purchase an MDX real soon.
The best quote I'm getting is from precision in princeton...

invoice + 2.5%
plus destination
plus tax
plus title/plates
--------------------

is that a good deal ?

... but many have done as well or better (and that was earlier in the model year).

You can NOT get out of TT&L so essentially you are looking at Invoice + 2.5% + $545 (destination); or e.g. Touring + Nav = $37112 + $927.80 + $545 = $38584.80

As I said many have done as well or better (including me in January); try SEARCH - many have reported their recent deals.

One important caveat - make SURE that their invoice does NOT include any extra stuff like advertising, etc. This is a decent deal ONLY IF based on the $37112 base invoice. I'd try harder for a better deal.

PS: Do NOT let them load you up on dealer add-on accessories. Get your accessories from Tim.

I bought mine last month from Bridgewater Acura. I got quotes from Precision, Springfield and some others in the area. My experience with this dealership was great. They gave me the base model for $34k. You could call Vincent Rossi over there.
