Is this a cold air intake? How does it compare to Manus1980 custom intake? BTW does it work on the 2004 MDX?

It looks virtually identical to the Manus special. By the way, for those who want to do this in stages, try just taking out the ridiculous resonator in the fender area. And use a washable panel filter like a K&N or True Flow.
It should give you better air flow but who is too say it is as much 'boost' as the Manus job. It will be quieter though when you punch it. That could be good or bad depending on your taste.
Of course it will look stock from the top, and not have the 'wow' value.

K&N does make some really good filters. The MDX stock intake is around 3.3" on inside diameter. Don't know that K&N pipe can be fitted to where the stock intake leaves off at unless it comes with a plastic collar and some O-rings. I recently purchased a Reactive Fitler with inverted front end and it is awsome. Best filter I ever used, feels like a couple extra horses probably due to the inverted front end plugs directly into where the cold air comes up into the engine bay. Acts just like a cold air intake but still have the protection against water ingestion. No matter what intake you go with it has to be better then stock performance wise. I don't know what it is about that box, must have been designed with only acoustics in mind.

I got the reply from the seller and he said the intake will not fit on the 2004 MDX. What is the difference between the 03 and 04?
