I once saw an after market product, it is some sort of magnet,
and it is attached to the oil filer. It suppose to keep those tiny metal particles inside the oil filter.
anybody have tried thos type of product(s) ? any feedback ?

I use one called Magna Guard which actually installs inside the filter.

There are ones you can install on the outside of the filter. I always wondered if you removed those before removing the filter, if a concentrated clump of ferrous material would be released into the oil.
I bring my oil & filter to a Honda dealer who changes it for $13. Worth it to me to not wash another pair of levis for one more week.
But interestingly, it does seem like the oil maintains a lighter color between change intervals since using the magnets. Maybe it's just my imagination, something I am not short of.....:rolleyes: |
