I had the rear A/C transistor assy. replaced today at my dealer, it took all of 25 minutes.
However, the tech writer cautioned me that Acura put out an advisory notice to dealerships that owners with front seat covers of all kinds, should be advised that both the side air bags, as well as the override sensor in the passenger seat, could be impaired.

It is one reason Acura does not provide seat covers as an approved accessory.

He went on the say, while many quality sheepskins, etc. come with 'breakouts' for the side bags, these have never been tested or approved by Acura (or anyone as far as we know).

I have a nice pair of Rocky Mountain sheepskins I am now considering to remove.
Some members early on put on center-trim covers which do not cover the sides of the seats. I am not too clear how either type would impair the passenger seat sensor except perhaps by reducing the sensitivity of it.

Under warranty? So is this "another feature"?

RE: seat covers, makes complete sense to me.

...yes it was under warranty, and a common problem.

With regards to the seat covers, I agree it is smart on Acura's part, since they obviously have no way of knowing if the break-away features will work as designed, nor should they be responsible for testing them.

The problem with the center covers, is they do provide some protection but leave the side bolsters fully exposed and not protected against accelerated wear. But they look 'cool'. Granted, that pales in comparison with safety.

Apparently some seat cover mfrs. take the issue seriously.

I am looking for my 'X front seats covers. There are a lot of threads mentioning Wet Ocole. They sure look nice and high quality. My question: how do they feel in the hot summer day. In one post the member said they will feel hot, but not as hot as black leather. Seems that Nylon-Neoprene combination is not breezable.
Could anybody share the summer driving experience with Wet Ocole?
I will also start a new thread on this.
