| My wife and I own a 2004 MDX Touring Edition with Nav and love it to death. We recently had the side step ups and full hood air deflector installed. My wife HATES the way the deflector looks and would like to remove it. It appears as though adhesive plates are attached to the hood at the ends and the center. Can the deflector be safely removed?? |

| Assuming this is the factory deflector (and yes, it's ugly...that's why I don't sell them ;) ), you might be able to soften the glue with a hair dryer, and use dental floss working underneath the pillars. |

| Also try an adehesive remover like goo-gone to soften the stickers but be careful not to leave the goo-gone sitting on the paint for a prolonged period of time. |

| Give thought to putting on one of the clear bra's on the nose of your MDX. I have them on both my cars and they are almost invisible. |

| Thank you for the replies. I checked back with the dealership (yes, it was the factory deflector!! And it IS NASTY) and they said it could be safely removed. I will definitely give consideration to putting on a clear deflector instead. Thanks again!! |

I had one of these on my Exploder (before we got the X).
A couple of things you might try:
Heat the rubber things a bit. Don't need to do too much. Get some dental floss, holding one end in either hand and rub it back and forth under the pad, starting at one end, until it comes through at the other. Sort of like slicing it off the car.
This will leave some adhesive. Use any solvent: varsol, paint thinner, gas etc to get it off. Wash the area thoroughly and put on some wax. |

Nasty is an understatement. I saw one of those things on an SS X in L.A. this past week and almost gagged. Glad I got the Form-fit instead from Tim :4: |
