I have been having the same problems with the shifting in my transmission at 25-30 and 45-50 mph. Brought the MDX in on Monday there are replacing the tranny. I called Acura and was told the rebuilts are always put in. With the tranny's not being the same in the 03' and 04' models, the rep told me that it would be a tranny that "fits" the 01' model. I like the MDX alot but am very concerned about reliability that a rebuilt will last. Time to sell or keep? What would be a comparable replacement SUV? Like the space in the MDX, and I think the Lexus 330X and BMW X5 are small on cargo space. Suggestions appreciated.

I feel your pain. Its a real gamble, and there are a couple threads up here for you to search for.

We are looking at the volvo xc90.

You'll get the 1yr/12k mile warranty on the remanufactured tranny, and it should have the latest improvements.

Based on overall value, the MDX is still tough to beat. Why not trade yours for an '04 or '05?
