Hero opens today. Please go see it. It's an excellent movie and was China's biggest box office movie and China's official Oscar Foreign Feature selection in 2002. It's directed by Zhang Yimou who also did "Red Sorghum," "Ju Dou" and "Raise the Red Lantern." It features China's A list actors Jet Li, Tony Leung, Maggie Cheung, Donnie Yen, and Zhang Ziyi. The action scenes are excellent (in my opinion better than Crouching Tiger) and production sets are beautiful, and the cinematography is amazing.

BTW... because the movie is over 2 years old, you can buy the DVD on eBay. But it's definitely worth a watch on the big screen. |

Yup!
At least 10 time better then that $@##$@ Crouching tiger hidden dragon crap..
This one have a good story, the feeling is very very real...
The DVD is the same as movie but you do get some other stuff with DVD I think..
It'd be best to see with huge screen.

The problem with seeing it on the big screen is that you may not understand the movie the first time around.
This movie had a much bigger budget than Croutching tiger. Beside, Jet Li is a much better suited character as a swordsman. |

| Jet Li is the man!! I'm glad he came out with a movie like "Hero". The recent movies that he made were terrible; well at least compared to his kung fu movies from way back. |

I thought Kiss of the Dragon had excellent fighting scenes. The movie that is widely regarded as his best is "Fist of Legend", which is a remake of Bruce Lee's "The Chinese Connection." |

It came out in China in 2002 and is now being shown for the first time in the U.S. |

The "Once upon a time in China" (Wong Fe Hong) movies were my favorites. I think there were like 4 different ones, one of the them didn't feaure Jet Li though.
"Fist of Legend" was pretty good too. He made a whole bunch of other movies that were real good. "My father is a hero" and "Taichi Masters" I and II, and I dont remember the titles for the other ones.
vlam,
I'm glad you like the HIDs. ;) |
