| Pretty cool. Are you using this with a laptop or PDA? I have a HP Jornada 548. I wonder how well this would work using the CF adapter. |

| With a ThinkPad. I haven't used it outside on the road yet, just messed with in in the house so far. |

| It is sold out on-line but virtually all stores have it in stock. I called the local CompUSA yesterday and they said they would give it to me for the $79.99 online price. |

They're just messing with you. It's not an online only price. Its this weeks price from their Sunday ad.

Hello zafer
Thanks for your information. I had been looking for this long time ago at price $130. I call the compusa and confirm that they had one before with $80. Just give the local store a call. They might still have some. By the way, Fry and Best Buy also put it on sale for $90 for weekly ads.

| I went to CompUSA and bought one last night for $79.99. I'm taking it on a cross-country trip beginning in one week. I'll post later and let you guys know how well it works. Given that I've used MS Trip Planner and Streets & Trips for many years, I fully expect it to work well. The only question is how well the very small GPS receiver will work. It definately looks cool with its blue neon light and clear acrylic cover. |

Sitting at home, fooling around with it inside I pickup on six satellites. The one in the MDX w/Navi is about the same size too. You can see it when remove the head unit. |

Ok, found one and picked it up at the local Compusa. I can't believe I had to go out and get it....
Nice maps, very good data in my area anyway.
Now my question is why can I buy the Maps and a GPS receiver for $80 when just a disk with updated maps is $200! |

I'm in the middle of my cross-country trip and have been using this GPS package. So far, it's a complete bust on my laptop. Dont know why but it doesnt want to work well on my laptop. This is the email I sent to both Pharoes and Microsoft this morning.
I have having a conflict when using your GPS with Streets and Trips 2005. When I click on box to have Streets and Trips "Track Position" it works fine for about 2 seconds, then the next time the screen has to update on my Dell 600m laptop it just goes mostly blank and hangs the computer up. I checked the process with Task Manager and it shoes Streets and Trips taking nearly 100 percent of the CPU time when this happens. It wont correct itself either. I have to remove check from Streets and Trips "Track Position" to get it to stop.
I've tried the following things with no success.
Disabled wireless connection,
closed all other applications on laptop,
disabled internet connection,
disconnected the USB connection, then reconnected it,
lowered baud rate to 4800,
etc.
I'm fairly experienced with computers and I've tried all that I know to do, but cant seem to fix the problem.
Please send me some concrete things to do to fix this. I'll try them all. Thanks.
My best guess is that the GPS device somehow conflicts with something else on my laptop. But, I've checked device manager and made sure that there are no conflicts, yet the problem persists. If anyone out there can give me additional suggestions, I would very much appreciate it. Thanks. |

| finally figured out what caused the conflict on my laptop. I have Motorola mobile PhoneTools installed. Looks like the laptop doesn't like both cellphone and GPS attached to laptop at same time. A very odd conflict but the solution was ultimately simple--uninstall and remove PhoneTools. Did that and everything began working fine. |

Must have been a mistake, just checked my order to verify and:
Microsoft Streets and Trips 2005 with GPS Locator $27.19 Cancelled |

Microsoft Streets and Trips 2005 with GPS Locator $27.19 Cancelled
That is probably because too many people on FW tried to ordered and resell it on Ebay.
:2:
A price mistake that they may have honored if one or two people ordered. |
