i just filled up yesterday with 16.2 gallons after having driven 257 highway miles. really really bad mileage. very disappointing. what's strange is that after the fillup and the automatic reset on the trip computer, the range that it showed me with the new tank was only 180 miles. wtf????
it's not possible that the x only gets 15 mpg highway, is there? i wanted to check the air filter while the gas was pumping, but acura decided to screw down the air filter housing instead of using clips. so i didn't get a chance to look at it yet to see if i sucked in a plastic bag or leaf or something drastic and obvious like that.
with only 500 miles on my x, i'm a little concerned that something's amiss.
please advise. |

| Your gas mileage should increase as the miles pile up. Mine has. I was getting 16 regularly, when my X was new. Now I have 5K +, and I get 20 MPG. I just drove from Seattle to Nor Cal, and got 22 MPG at just under 80 MPH. |

The range will change as you drive, especially if you're going to be going on a long highway trip. Try filling up before a highway trip of 15 or more miles. You'll notice the range increasing as the computer gets adjusted to the type of driving you're doing.
I haven't checked yet to see if this has been posted yet... It would be interesting to understand how everything is computed and the algorithms used.

| Acura sells a cold air intake filter for the X. It replaces the stock air filter. They are other after market makers also. I wonder if that would make a difference in gas mileage, of course for better milage and not necessary performance. |
