If you want to experience constant fear of impending doom, you can watch a game with a Red Sox fan. . . :2:

Drive down to Salem, Mass.....they do special stuff around Haloween and they have some great exhibits on the old Salem Witch Trials.

I've lived in the area my whole life so I don't get into the whole witch hysteria thing but in the last few years it's become a big thing.
The best place to stay for location is the Hawthorne Hotel (it is an old hotel but was redone recently).
It's next to the common and they have the witches ball there.
There are a number of hotels in town (by Pickering wharf) but wherever you decide to stay make sure it's near downtown.
Getting into and around the city during the week of Halloween is very difficult.
There are a number of websites for the area I would suggest doing a search on salem ma.
Salem.org is a good one.
A lot of people are suprised to find that a number of key places to visit aren't in Salem but in surrounding area towns. Salem Village (as it was known) was broken up into a number of cities and towns centuries ago.

BillR thanks for the info. We're staying in Boston and driving up to Salem for stuff. Looking forward to it.
