| Anyone added a remote start to their X ? If so what did you use and were you able to integrate into the keyless entry unit ? I want to add remote start, but I don't want an additional remote added to my keychain. With my wife's CRV, the dealer added remote start and integrate it into the keyless entry that comes with the car, so you just press the lock button twice and the car starts. |

I have remote starting on my X. It is integrated with the alarm system I had installed. I use the remote that came with the alarm.
I'm sure a good alarm shop will figure out a way to integrate a remote start capability in with the factory alarm.
Good luck!! |

| If you want to use the factory remote, Autopage has a unit that will activate through the factory keyless system |

I use the remote that came with the Alarm. My thought is that the factory remotes are designed for you to lock / unlockthe car as you are approaching it. (not from a long range), where as the remote that came with the alarm is designed to operate from a distance.
Is my theory way off??

| Most of the newer alarm/autostart systems comes with an antenna that gives decent range, so using the stock keyless entry remote should not be a problem. There are two reasons why I want to keep the stock remote: 1) Its linked to the seats and mirror, so the wife can change seat positions all she wants, although you can press the memory button inside the X, I like the remote. 2) Since I keep the keys in my pocket all day at work, I dont want to extra remote, hey another 3 ounces is alot of weight (lol). |
