| I have a Genuine Philips 4100K Hid kit for sale. This kit will fit 01-03 MDXs. I bought this kit a little over a year ago from hid-online. It has served me well. The ballasts were completely covered and have not been exposed to the elements. The bulbs are in excellent condition and have maybe 200 hours on them (HID bulbs usually have a 2000 hour life) so they are just about ready to color shift if they haven't already. All you need in addition to this kit is a wire harness and you are ready to go. I am asking $300 shipped. I accept paypal, money order or check (after it has cleared). PM me if you are interested or have additional questions. Thanks for looking. |

| I have a set however, one of my bulbs are burnt lately. Are you planning to sell your bulbs seperately? |

HISLAW,
I would consider it but the price would be in the $180 range. I think the set is worth more together than piecing it out. Not too many people want proprietary ends on their ballasts. Shoot me a PM if you're interested. Thanks. |

| Ballasts have been sold. I still have the bulbs. Anybody interested in a replacement set for $140 shipped? These have the Amp ends on them (I will get pics later) and (I believe) will fit the McCullough kits as well. Genuine Philips capsules!!! I think these are a steal at this price. |

Phins--sorry to stray from your sales pitch, but is it better for the HID system if you cover the ballasts? Aren't they already sealed from the elements?

Hey Rob,
Kind of a tricky subject. They ARE NOT waterproof and they need to breathe. That middle protrusion is a release valve. What I did (and still do) was bought a plastic electrical box and put the ballasts in there. Here is link that kind of describes it:
http://faq.auto.light.tripod.com/hl-hid-ballasts.htm
There are covers specifically made for this, too. They run about 20-40 bucks. I can get you some info on that if you want. |

Thanks, Phins. I appreciate the linky and the info. I actually called lavalighting.com where I got my HIDs from, and the tech guy said he would rather the ballasts get a little sprinkled with water than not be able to dissipate heat. He said as long as it's not a deluge of water, it should be fine.
So anyways, I'll stick it out without covers for now, and see what happens.
Thanks again!
