There seems to be all kinds of rattles comming from the front passenger side of my 2004 MDX. When ever I go over a bump or a small crack on the road....or what ever it may be, there is a rattle that drives me nuts when i drive. :3: WTF could this sound be!!? it seems like its comming from inside the glove compartment, since when i drive with the glove comp. open- the rattle is no longer there. Has anyone ever had this prob. with their MDX or know how to fix it? Thanx in advance.!!!

Does the glove box not close all the way? Is it banging against the latch since it isn't closing tight? Just a thought.

I have been fooled several times by those packs of gum that come in blister packages with foil backs. A little vibration can cause those little pieces of open foil to make a lot of racket when bent against something that can move around even a little.

Only other thing I can think of is to make sure you're not missing the little bumper nipples along the edge of each side of the door toward the top. Look for a recessed edge on the other side of the compartment portion of the door.

Hmmm the glove box closes all the way. I used to work at Acura, and I have not noticed this kind of noise from the X. It sounds like a very cheap plasticy sound rattling, could it be some of the wiring behind the glove box. -I looked inside the glove box and saw lot of plastic wires back there- I guess I should take it to the dealership and let them fix it? but that will take alot of time im guessing. Hmm.

I recently started to notice the same kind of noise around the glove compartment.

When I leave it open, it does not make the noise.
When I close it, it seems like there is a little bit of play.
I'm not sure if this is because I have too much stuff in it...

It sure is annoying....the older the X gets, the more noise it produces...

My X (2000 miles) has the same glove comp. rattle even when it is empty.

My 2002 does the same thing. Doesn't rattle when open, doesn't rattle if I push against the glove box door.

48,000 miles and I just went to the dealer 2 weeks ago to have them look at the last few warranty issues. That, by the way, was a waste of time. The LOUD periodic clunk in the right rear door - "we road tested it and didn't hear anything" and of course the rear hubs that are 100% rusted - "that's normal" .. normal for what??? Gotta love that answer. I love how when something is wrong on ALL models, it's dismissed as normal.

I have the same noise in my 01, when i brought it to the dealer they explained that the noise is from the clip that the latch attathes to idt appears to have sagged a little and the noise is "normal". They were not interested in fixing the problem.:3:
