| Can someone help me post some pictures? I took some of the 04 X that was brought into my shop today. Apparently the local stereo installer had some problems getting the fake woodgrain piece of the dash and damaged the plastic. I took before and after pictures but I keep getting told that the images are too large and I can't figure out how to upload more than one picture to a post. I would like to get your guys opinion of the repairs I made to the dash. Thanks |

| If its too large either get microsoft power tools image resizer or ifranview. To post more than one picture to a post you would have to link it. |

| No problem resizing them, that I can do. How do you link them on one post? |

you really don't have to resize them.....all you have to do is change the attachment to jpeg (.jpg) and that would shrink the size of the picture from say 2mb down to only 100kb...with basically no visual difference at all that meets the eye.....the easiest way to do this is to go into Paint from start -> all programs -> accessories and just open the picture and resave it as what i said before...jpeg
if you want to upload pictures onto the forum, the easiest and simpliest way is to use the attach file option below the typing window when you "reply" |

| The file is already in a jpeg and the size is about 237kb but it still is saying that the file is too large. It says that the maximum size allowed is 102400 bytes. What gives? |

Use an image editor or Irfanview to resize/resample.
640x480 at 80% quality will bring it down to under 100k, usually. If not, further reduce the size or quality. It'll look fine down to about 70%, then it'll start getting ratty. |

| Can someone create a site FAQ on how to post pictures? I also have problems every time I want to post pictures and ususally give up in frustration. Unless you do it frequently, it's easy to forget the steps. :banghead: |

I think the repairs look great. Nice color match. Don't notice them at all any more. IMHO, Great Job :claphead: :29: |

cvyluv,
How did you do the repairs? I have a couple of these marks from my own doing and would like to repair them if it isn't too involved. Thanks. |

| Sorry but there really isn't any DIY method out there for successfully making these types of repairs. I custom match the color and apply it with a gravity fed spray gun. The tricky part to repairing plastic is to get the dye to adhere properly. I have been doing interior repair for pretty much my whole life(family owned business) and this job still took me a while. The customer looked it over for about 10 minutes with me there after I was done and seemed to be very happy with how it turned out. Now the question of how much to charge??   |

A couple of thing that I forgot to mention:
1. Thanks to manus for posting my pictures for me, I really appreciate it.
2. The instructions for removing the fake woodgrain panel are GREAT!! I did it just like it said, it was pretty easy with the detailed instructions and the best part was that I didn't cause any damage that I would have had to fix!! :D :D :D :D |
