I know there a bunch of opinions on this topic and if I spent hours searching I could get 10 different answers, but what I'd like to ask the expert here is if I get this kit, what else do I need to do to make the light work work the best it needs to be? I know wiring is required and the kits have instructions what to do. Parts incl?
I've heard that you need to align and I would expect that. But what else? I've read people put something on top of the light (like foil) to flatten out the pattern. Is this really necessary? I don't want light that blind drivers as I hate when others do this.
I'm considering the 4300 kit, if this makes a difference.
Appreciate the advice. |

First the kit will come with everything to hook up to your MDX lights. It will come with a harness to connect your OEM headlight connector to the Ballast, will come with relays, wires, etc it is PnP follow this thread from a prior GB http://www.acuramdx.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=12023&perpage=15&pagenumber=13. The foil is not 100% necessary but some find that there is some light bleed, Currently with my 02 and other HID lights, I only was flashed ONCE but that was when I was on a hilly road. You will have to judget his yourself. 4300K puts out the most light and is close to OEM. |

Bluestreak,
:soapbox:If you really want light that doesn't bother other drivers, I would suggest doing a projector retro. The MDX reflectors are not made for an HID kit, IMHO. I drove in front of my X once just to see what the other drivers were seeing when I had my kit installed. Man, was it bright and annoying. Light everywhere. And this is with my lights aimed lower than stock! That is the main reason I went with the projectors. Even with aiming the reflectors down, you still have a ton of reflected light going everywhere. The projectors provide a much more controlled environment and you have OEM parts you can get anywhere if you need replacements. YMMV and good luck with the kit if you go that route. |

Hello,
Thank-you for your replies.
As per your posts:
1) Zafer's instruction guide definitely helps out! The kit is plug+play and will not require you to modify your vehicle in any way. Everything you need will be included.
2) There is a little light bleed with your headlights to help illuminate overhead traffic signs. You will find that when installing this product, they will replicate your OEM halogen beam pattern due to proper rebasing. I am not disputing that HID and projectors is a nice combo.

Steve |

Hi Steve,
I was so satisfied 4300K 9006 HID Kit for my MDX (actually I purchased it in September, 2003).
Just I have placed an order of 4300K H4 HID Kit for my Corvette (I installed Euro Headlights which require H4 kit). And I know high beam will not work, which is OK to me.
I believe you are going to send me a tracking number.
Thanks,.. Jin-Ki |

2) They want the same kit I got which was the 5000K, is that still available? I didnt see it in your web site.
Thanks |

FREE HID CONVERSION KITS!!!!!!
I hate to be a party pooper, but I've yet to find the $299.99 kits to fit any model of MDX. The online price, even with the promo code, says $399.99 at minimum. What's the deal??!! |

Hi,
I am also wondering about the $299.99 Price point.... I am new to the forum( I bought my MDX on SAT!!!) and have read alot of good things about these lights.

Hello,
Thank-you for your replies. As per your questions:
1) kseto007 - With the H4 kits, you will lose the high beam functionality as the H4 halogen bulb is a dual fillament bulb.
2) perk & Banzai.jai - The Xtreme 9006 kits start at $299.99 and will fit on the first gen MDX headlights. With the newer style headlights you would need to get an H11 product which unfortunately is not offered with the Xtreme kits.

Steve |

| Are these xtreme kits the same as your xenondepot kits? Do they use the same exact bulbs that everyone else on here has been using? |
|
|
| XenonDepot |
Banzai.jai,
The main differences between the Xtreme line and XenonDepot line are:
- The Xtreme line uses Asian components whereas the XenonDepot line uses German made Philips components.
- The Xtreme line is geared for people that are more interested in colour temperature as opposed to light ouput.
Please view this link for information regarding colour temperature:

| Steve, is the 5000K kit still avaliable. |
|
|
| XenonDepot |
Hello,
We stopped carrying the 5000k kit a while back now.
I would suggest going with the 4300k kit and waiting for the bulbs to colour shift. After approx 100 hours they will reach colour temps of approx 4700k.
Regards,
Steve |

| Banzai.jai |
Do you happen to have a picture of what the extreme's look like when on? (i know i might be asking alot) What about a picture with the xtreme's and the xenondepot ones side by side. There is a hundred dollar difference, between the two, and I think if I saw the difference, I would make the buying decision based on that.
Thanks |

Banzai I have my XenonDepot kit for about 2 years now and it is amazing and worth every penny. The increase in light output is like light and day. The next time you are on the road, just take a look at cars like BMW's, MB's, and Audi's with xenon head lights. Thats how your lights will look.
Like Steve said before, the Extreme kit is more about the color temp to match xenon lights minus the light output. I would not bother to buy the Extreme kit if all you are looking for is for your lights to look like xenon. Go to a auto store and buy some Silver Star bulbs for about $50 pr. They are made to have a color temp of 4000K and look like xenon. But people will know they are fake xenon look alikes because of the light output. |

Hello,
All the pictures we currently have available are featured in the gallery section of our website.
As kseto007 said, the Xtreme kit is geared towards people that are generally more interested in colour output as opposed to light output.

Steve,
How do the 4300 H11 kits look and perform on '94-'95 MDX projector lenses? Are they really plug n play? |
|
|
| XenonDepot |
Hello Sir,
The 4300k kit will provide you with a very OEM look with the 04 05 MDX projectors. The kit is plug+play and will not require any modifications to the vehicle.

| XenonDepot |
Hello,
This promo is on until December 31/04.
The kits come with a one year warranty.
For an 02 MDX you would need to get a 9006 kit.

| One of my friends just bought an MDX from a dealer. When driving home today I noticed that his lights would not turn on. We stopped the car and I opend the hood to find XENONS!!! However, for some odd reason both lights were left unplugged?? Do these lights void warranties?? No clue why he had them unplugged, but I just reconnected them and DAMN they look AWESOME!!!...So tempted to make a purchase myself, but just can't justify the $400 bucks right now :( ....If they were for $299..I would jump on em :4: |

Spent 2 hours installing the (H4) 4300K xenon kit for my sister inlaws FreeLander this morning. Its was tough to find space for the 2 ballasts. There was not alot of space like the X.
When I finished & turned on the lights, man what a difference.
My sister inlaw was so happy. |
