Just bought my 2004 MDX /Res about two weeks ago. Today was my first test to see how the X handles the snow in Colorado. It did an excellent job. However, once I arrived at work, I was sitting in the car for a little bit, enjoying the sound system, I notice this horrible smell from the X. It smell like burnt oil from the engine is getting into the car. Does anyone have a problem or notice this? Should I have the dealer check it out?
Just hope the weekend is nice and wwrm so I could get the salt off the X.
Thanks. |

I strongly suggest you have your MDX checked up ASAP by the dealer ASAP. I've never had this problem but am not sure if this is due to the winter season. |

| When we test drove ours I smelled burning plastic when we switched drivers. They had just cut the plastic off the interior. Not sure if some made it's way down the the exhaust. But you're at two weeks already. Check your fluids and then call the dealer I guess. |

The techs may have gotten a little oil or fluid on the engine or maniford while they were prepping your car for delivery. As it heats up, it smells.
Or you may have a pinhole in the casting of your engine block, or a bad seal or loose bolt. (Any little puddles under the car?)
For peace of mind, take it to Acura. It shouldn't smell, one way or the other. |
