I am a new member and today I got my 2005 Black / Ebony. I am in the Albany, NY area. I got a Touring with Navi. Got $2.000 off. I know others were able to do better, but my area has pretty much one dealer in a 150 mile radius. I traded my 99 TL with Navi with 112K miles.

Love the new NAVI. It is of course very much upgraded for me since I was a 99 owner. Bluetooth works great with my Motorola V710, and the XM Radio is awesome. Eventhough the upgraded NAVI was highly anticipated, the thing I think I will love the most is the XM. I did find (on my ride home) that the talk shows like ESPN radio sounded a little distorted almost like a streaming internet feed. The music channels sounded really good.

One quick quirky thing I have noticed is the outside temperature is only visible in the NAVI screen and you have to push the AC button to get to it. I was used to a dedicated display in the dash under the speedomiter. This may not be a new thing in the 2005's, I can only compare to my 99 TL.

The voice commands are neat but I doubt I will use it that much because it just seems more of a pain. You have to press the botton each time you say a command and you have to speak loudly. It is neat to have all theses commandes, but a lot of the commands just seem like overkill. Like "CD - Next Track." Seems easier to press the button on the steering wheel then to press a voice action button and then say it.

I also think the Bluetooth and Speak command buttsons are maybe too close together and at night mistakes could be made pressing the wrong one. Of course I have only driven the thing for like 10 miles so far so I am sure I will get used to it.

Overall think this baby is solid and I love it

Congrats on the new MDX. Even on my '04 I have to go to the outside temp page (no perma-display). It doesn't bother me though.

Try things like "Display information" to get the Temps screen, and "CD Play disc 2 track 4" and "Radio tune to 104.5 FM". With 120 XM channels, Voice is the best way to get around the dial for non-preset channels. Learning the new Navi commands is a lot like learning a new language.

I spent 650 miles (driving north of Albany) practicing. I now know more Navi than French, because the Navi tutor is better than my French tutor.

Congrats!

I picked my 05 Touring Nav/Res Silver/Ebony last night at Springfield NJ.

It took them 4 hours to process everything and the car was already prepped when I got there! Very disorganized dealer. Only reason I went there was because they had in stock and gave me a good deal.

1) Money factor .0023
2) 42 months/15k miles (only way to get the .0023 money factor. seems that Honda is timing the return of the vehicles so is offering the best lease support for 42 months)
3) .54 residiual (dropped from .56 in october)
4) $2400 out of pocket including sidesteps prepaid with installation. ($624)
5) Got $22,500 for my Base 02 with Navi with 38k miles on it. It had sidesteps and base carrier installed.
6) Monthly payment $565 with taxes rolled in.
7) With the lower residual for November, I think the price ended being around 40k.

They were trying to tell me not to pay any out of pocket because if the car gets totalled I would lose that money. Is this true? I know this is true for money down, but does it extend to taxes and fees? I didn't do it because I hadn't run any numbers that way.

I asked if I would be responsible for the remaining taxes in case of a total loss and they said the gap insurance picks it up.

The voice navigation commands are pretty good. The bluetooth works well with my moto mpx220 so far.

I agree, you have to get used to using voice commands. It is like learning another language.

I can predict that for the next model change they are going to enlarge the navi screen and the res screen. why? because my touring odyssey beats the mdx in both of these.

Congrats on the new MDX! Have you experience any noises such as gas slosh or thud?

One command that appears to be a problem is the time. Anyone have problems having the system tell you that.

I have tried different types of outside temperature commands, but no luck. It is not really a big deal.

Another thing I am not in love with is the placement of the clock. It used to be in the NAVI. Now it is in the stereo screen. I have to get used it. I constantly think it is a radio channel of some sort because there is no colen in it.

As to the Bluetooth. I have a Motorola V710 and the phonebook in the phone does not work. I also have the wireless headset. I keep it in my car, but powered off. I have to figure out how to switch from the link to the MDX to the headset. I know I will not always want to use the speaker system in the MDX when someone else is in the car.
