I stopped in my local honda dealer to pick up VTM4 fluid for my first change on my "03 X, so I ask this "service guy" for some tips on the process as follows: ME- any tips for a beginner on vtm change? ( I already new the steps from this site), HIM- What kind of vehicle?, ME- an MDX!; HIM- What's that????. I said an acura SUV. He says I never heard of it! WTF!!!!!!!!!!. A honda service tech hasn't ever heard of the MDX??? I openly laughed and walked out, laughed continuously all the way to my car.

I find it totally plausible. The dealerships don't give the workers a test to see if they know makes and models.
But on the flip side...no doubt if you work for Honda, it'd not be too much to ask of someone to get to know Acura products as well. |

I guess you could have said Honda Pilot and walked out with the right fluid. Although, not sure I would trust any tips you might get.
You can get good advice right here on this forum. |

| Got the same thing when I asked for an oil filter at my Honda dealer. Maybe they thing we're bragging or something. It's almost like they know but don't want to let on. Conspiracy ? Maybe. Surely anyone who's read the tranny recall would have come across it. |
