I have plugged in my XBox using the rear inputs several times now but the picture and image quality on the screen is awful. I'm not sure whether the problem is Acura's input jacks or the Xbox's output wires....I'm leaning towards Acura because the image seems to fine when the Xbox is hooked up to a regular tv.
Has anyone else had/solved this problem? |

My son's Game Cube produces a decent picture. The screen sure isn't plasma quality or anything.
How much worse is the Xbox picture quality than DVD quality in you opinion? |

| Perhaps check the various video settings of the Xbox. Make sure you're not on the wrong aspect ratio, etc. |

The picture gets kinda snowy, like interference.
Good news though, I hooked up my PS2 today and the picture was crystal clear. So apparently the problem lies in the XBox's AV cables. I'm going to try to go to Best Buy to see if there is a better quality Xbox cable available because the one that it came with doesn't seem to work to well for mobile applications. |

| In our experiences at the shop, the X Box seems to be more particular about power inverters, they also seem to have weaker video output than PS2. |

| I've got a APC 140W inverter...It powered it up, no problems. But just snowy picture using the aux inputs...Any other suggestions? |

| It doesn't matter as much the size of the inverter, but some seem to introduce noise into the picture. Try plugging the power into your home and see if the picture improves. |

| Ahhhh good suggestion, I will try that. |

| If you still experience problems, try a different video source (grab a vcr or dvd player from the house) and see if the picture clears up. This will tell you if the RES input has problems. |

| I have seen many problems like this. Have you tried grounding the video rca. Actually strip back a protion and taking another wire to it and running it to bare metal. Just an idea that has solved some of my past problems like this. |

Tried plugging xbox up to the house, still snowy picture. I am going to try the PS2 on it today. |

Ok...tried the PS2 out with the inverter as power source, worked like a champ, nice clear picture. So it looks like the problem is the with the xbox or cables. But, I know that it works fine with those same cables on a tv in the house.
tfe691, when you say strip the cable and ground it...do you mean just cutting a section of the insulation, wrapping a wire around it, and then running that to something metal? |

| yes exactly. But if you say it is snowy when you hook it up in your house too? I would say its the xbox or the cables. You can also try twisting a wire around the outer part of the end of the rca before you cut back the shielding on the cable. See if that helps. |

| Does it change depending on if the engine is running or not? |

tfe691,
No, the xbox & those cables produce a clear picture on tv's in the house.
04mdx4sq,
No difference between engine running or off. |
