Brief story: broke rear windshield 3 weeks ago, repaired immediately by Safeline Autoglass thru my insurance co. Seemed to be OK, until the heavy rains today. While my previous rear defog/defrost worked minimally, at least it did SOMETHING. With the new windshield, the rear defrost doesn't work at all. It seems to be watertight, although I thought I spotted 1 drip in the center of the windshielf.
I am planning to call the glass company today. When I call, do I need to insist on an Acura (Honda) windshield, or should any aftermarket windshield be able to connect to the MDX's defrost circuitry?
Thanks,

Wrong question. You don't need to insist on anything other than the original defrost function works, and the glass is as waterproof as the original. You have insurance, don't forget.
I'd give Safeline one more chance to get it fixed, then insist to your insurance company that you have it replaced again at an Acura dealer at their expense. |

Thanks shootist. I called Safeline, and they are coming Monday to work on the windshield. If it still is no better, I will contact my insurance company to demand that Acura fix the windshield at the insurance co's expense.
