I brought my 2003 MDX in because the Navigation system was not getting a signal. I was told that they will have to replace the GPS antenna. I asked the Acura client service person where that was located and he did not know.

Does anyone know where it is located? Has anyone else had to have it repalced?

I believe it is under the dash but am not positive.

Center of dash, at base of windshield (not visible). Center stack must be removed to get to it. Major disassembly.

So I am not going to be happy with this, am I.

I wouldn't characterize removing the center stack as "major disassembly".

IIRC, you pull the upper vent assembly straight out, disconnect the climate controls (1 connector), pull the center trim around the stereo, and loosen 4 bolts (maybe 6) to pull the stereo. The Nav antenna sits atop the assembly.

It ain't no biggie. Only risk is damage/scratch to the center "plood" trim or surrounding dash. There is no rattle risk.

Make sue they are careful when removing panel from around the radio...

You're right, http://www.acuramdx.org/forums/show...&threadid=12423 , it is visible right there centered just above the two middle vents.

Well, after three days of having my MDX, the dealer replaced the antenna which did not correct the problem. They have to replace the NAV unit now.

I am told that it will probably be a few weeks before the NAV unit will be available from ACURA. Does that sound right? Why would it take ACURA two weeks to get a NAV unit?
