| Let me preface by saying that I put larger wheels and tires on my 04 MDX, so I know that the brakes are working harder than with stock wheels/tires. My X has just under 10,000 miles and I hear a LOUD bird chirping sound from one of the wheels when I brake. In addition, I think I also hear the sound very slightly when coasting. My mechanic/friend thinks that the rotors may be warped, rather than just having worn pads. Can this be??? If so, thats a major bummer.......................any input/thoughts? Im bringing it to him Thursday morning............... |

| When you move from stock parts you run the risk of going where the vendor did not intend and may not cover. |

The "chirping bird" sounds like the brake pad wear indicators. (or vice versa, or something). It could have been caused by your new wheels, or an unequal or over-torqued install.
If you bring it in for warranty replacement of the rotors, the dealer will probably blame the aftermarket parts, whether they caused them or not, and not go any further in the diagnosis process. If you have the OEM wheels in the basement.......... |

My mechanic friend put new ceramic pads on all 4 wheels. HUGE difference in braking performance!! WOW, feels like a different truck.................very happy.
For those not in the know, ceramic pads perform better, dont squeal, and dont give off brake dust...................Im happy again!!!!!! |

| Ok, so the pads werent the problem, it seems. While the rotors are clean, there is a problem with the wheel spacers?? These it seems are needed for the larger wheels I put on. Now I hear squealing when I turn and on occasion when coasting. Im going to my wheel shop this wknd.................. |
