Hey guys,

I was at school today waiting for my mom to pick me up, but she never arrived on time. She called to tell me that the car wouldn't start...and it's only 2 weeks old! She said that the car will lock and unlock and the lights inside go on. When she puts the key in the ignition all the gauges go on also. The problem is that when she tries to start the engine, a clicking sound emerges and the car doesn't start. Could it be the battery - and heck it's only 2 WEEKS OLD!!!

Any info or anybody else with this problem???

If it is clicking, it sounds like it is the battery. You probably just need a jump. After calling Acura TLC, bring it back to the dealership to have them swap in a new one.

Or check the battery posts and/or ground cable to be sure they are tight.

This has been a recurring problem in our MDX since day one...literally day one. It could either be the battery, the starter, the immobilizer, or some electrical problem.

The dealer replaced our battery after getting our car towed to the dealer (we opted not to have it jump started AGAIN since we wanted the dealer to finally see first hand what the problem was) They ran the code tests and nothing came up so they replaced the battery.

I hope that was it, but we had a 1988 Chrysler minivan many years ago that had the same problem, but it was an electrical demon not having anything to do with the actual battery.

But four months with only one hiccup where it took the car a couple minutes to start. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!
