I'm looking for a 05 MDX with touring, DVD and NAV in NJ. I have received a price of $2500, $578/month for a 42 month 12K/yr lease, $25/month extra for 15K miles. $1500 due at signing. Does this seem in line for NJ?

Can anyone who purchased in this area provide me with their numbers so I have a baseline to go by? I have asked the dealer for the residual value and money factor so I can see exactly what was used in calculating the #s.

I just purchased an '05 MDX with touring, DVD and Nav in NJ for $1K over invoice. This is my 2nd purchase at this dealer so I probably did better than most others can do.

I did get another quote for a 04 model that was $1800 down and $579/month 12K/yr miles. So my 2nd quote was for almost the same except for it was last years model.

So $2500 of MSRP seems to be the norm. I have to do my research to see what exactly is negotiable in a lease.

Do you mind telling us where in NJ you got the deal (if not the actual dealer)? The dealer ratings on the boards haven't been updated in ages, so it's hard to tell where the good dealers are these days.

Did your first post indicate $2,500 down? It wasn't clear. The 04 deal is rated FAIR by the Lease Deal Evaluator at www.leaseguide.com (same for the 05 if the $2500 down is right). It costs $30 to get access, and has all the info you need to figure out a lease, along with the evaluator function. It's very worth it! You CAN negotiate many things in the lease.

For the 05 with nothing down, 42 months, 12k a year and $578 a month, here are the figures:
A HIGH monthly lease payment for this vehicle is $709.81.
A GOOD monthly lease payment for this vehicle is $571.37.
An EXCELLENT monthly payment for this vehicle is $469.48.
Therefore, your payment amount of $578.00 is rated Fair.

Ah I reread the post and see that it indeed wasn't clear. The $2500 was off list not down. Its $1500 down.

So there are variables in the lease that must be high. Guess I'll be contacting them via phone.

I'll have to rate this dealer on the board because I think they do a great job.

OK went to Bridgewater Acura today and signed on the dotted line. $1000 over dealer invoice. 42 month, 12K miles payment with tax is $568. Now all I have to do is wait for it to show up :D

Congratulations! I'm convinced that forums such as this save people lots of money. The other thing it accomplishes is steer (pardon the pun) people to good dealers, and keep people away from the bad dealers.
