I recently bought a 2003 MDX but because I imported the vehicle into Canada from the USA Honda voided the warranty on me in both countries(wish I knew that before I bought it).

The problem I am having is the "D5" on the dash flashes while I driving (display indicating-5th gear). In the owners manual it identifies it as a transmission failure. Brought the vehicle into the dealership after 3hrs of labour they just reset the code and charged me $300.00, but the light began to flash before I even made it home. Now they suggest I bring it back in for electrical testing. Anyone else have this problem or have any suggestions.

Thanks Mark

Sorry to hear about the lack of warranty. Some transmisison faults are typically flashed out in the D5 indicator. Service should know this and credit the diagnosis time they already charged.
