| I have an '02 MDX with 39,500 miles on it. Condition is like new inside and out except for cracked windshield that happened one week ago (est. cost to fix $450 total). My payoff on the car is $23,000. I am looking at leasing an '04 Premium, with roof rack and bsm added. The dealer told me they would give me $22,000 trade in value (they said that price would not change if I had the windshield fixed) and pay off the loan on my current X; the price on the new one would be $34,500 (basically equal to kbb and edmunds "true market value" for our zip code), and they would add the $1300 difference to that, plus tax. No destination charge or security deposit. Money factor of .0022. $600 due at signing, payments $580/month on 42 month lease with 15,000miles per year, residual $21,500. My counter is to let me keep my cargo mats, all-weather mats, and cargo net and get payments below $550. Does this sound fair, or should I be looking for a better deal? Oh, they will also deliver the new one 120 miles to my house and take my current one back. Thanks in advance for your input! |

well alot of people have looked, but no responses. I wonder if the following info makes it an even better deal:
I decided to go ahead with their offer as outlined above, with payments at $580/month. the guy delivered it on Friday afternoon. as we were going over the paper work, he mentioned that I would get more info on XM in the mail so I could continue the subscription. I thought to myself "he must be mixed up, the 04 does not have XM." I looked at the info sheet, and to my suprise, they had delivered a '05 premium MDX, not an 04. The whole time we were doing our phone negotiating, I thought I was getting an 04, b/c that was what he said was on the lot. So needless to say, I felt pretty good about getting a new '05 Premium MDX with roof rack, bsm, mud flap, wheel locks, cargo tray, and all weather mats, for the numbers as listed above! We love it! We have already decided that on the next trade, barring any major changes in configuration or body style, that we will upgrade to touring with nav and res. |
