Hey guys,
I signed up as a member a few months ago after I bought my 03 MDX. This is my first thread ever, so now I officially have to get some pictures of my MDX online ;)
Now for the reason I am writing a thread:
I love my 2003 MDX, but there is something I want in it that would just make it... well... complete. Does anyone else get goosebumps when you are driving down the interstate or a highway and in your rearview mirror, or ahead of you, you see the cut-off line of a projector HID headlamp? The blue to white, back to blue, a little purple maybe.. Come on, you know you love it. Well I want everyone on the road to feel that same joy when I drive down the highway. :(
I have searched high and low for a business that sells Projector HID headlamps for the acura mdx... and I have been unable too find any. When I went to the Tampa Bay Auto show last month, I thought my troubles would be over when I saw that the new MDX's have projector headlights. That bubble bursted when I found out that they are halogen.
* Do the 2005 headlamps even fit on earlier year MDX's?
* Anybody know of any businesses that may sell projector HID headlamps for the MDX?
*Anybody feel the same way I do about Projector HID headlamps?! |

OK- here are you answers:
Three active sponsors of this board have solutions.
Tim Polniak at hondacuraworld.com sells a complete kit of the parts necessary to do an 04-05 Projector conversion on an 03. About $400.
Manus1980 at blinglights.com sells HID kits.
Steve at xenondepot.com sells a kit to do HID conversions in the low beams of an 03. One flavor (the 6000 K blue ones) are on sale right now for $300.
THe 04-05 Projector lows use an H11 bulb, and the 03 low uses a 9006 bulb. I'm not sure if xenondepot has an H11 package, but the ones that are on sale aren't H11.
Lots of info on both, if you Search. and Welcome! |

Jeff5683,
We share the same passion. Here is a link to my retro:

Illusion-Lighting.com can do something for you (rather expensive). A member here (radwar) just had his lights done. You might PM him and see if you can get specifics. Hidplanet.com is a good sight for retro information. You should be able to find an installer or two there as well.
By the time you replace the headlights to 04-05 and get a kit, you'd be talking around $800  I would recommend a retro if you really want a complete Xenon system.
Good luck. |

| Actually Xenon Depot does have the H11 Xenon, I just did my conversion from 02 headlight to 04. Tim and Steve are both great! Good customer service from both! I might even put up my old 9006 xenon for sale here |

Jeff-
You can go to Illusion Lighting and have them fabricated. It is well worth it and they do quality work. You can even specify for them if you want LED projects or ECE projectors...this company is pretty extreme..
