I looked in the archives for '03's didn't find anything. Anyway my '03 is exhibiting the"trailer hitch effect", which is simply letting go of the accelerator and the transmission slows the vehicle as if the brakes were gently applied. has anyone experienced this problem, and if so is this what later develops into a full blown tranny failure.

Can you tell if it has downshifted? If so the RPMs would increase. Does this occur at all speeds? Are the RPMs at a given speed the same now as they have always been? Is your gas mileage the same as it has always been?

Agreed, especially if it is a very soft downshift a few seconds after changing speed. A very handy feature in hilly terrain. Sometimes, other driving conditions will mimic the slow down, speed up cycles common in driving winding roads, etc. and Grade Logic will kick in. |
