XM just called my work number with one of those incredibly irritating prerecorded messages to reactivate my service for $6.99/month for the next three months. I'm tempted to do it since I did sort of like the service, but I'm too pissed off by them disturbing me at work with that call.
(they must have gotten my work number from my dealer when he activated my trial subscription) |

I called them last week with my radio code and they don't even have my radio on their records! What is up with that? But it still works. They said they would research it and call me back, still waiting.....
I think I will just let it go until my 3 months are up. |

I'm not sure when my 3 month free trial period starts.
I took delivery of my new 05 MDX Touring with Navi on 8/27 and from the first time that I sat in the car, even before I signed, the XM worked. It only had 7 miles on it so it hadn't been test driven much, if at all.
I sat in the car with the sales associate as we set up the OnStar trial, so I know that one started on 8/27.
I also have an existing XM subscription because I have an XM Roady from my previous car and I'm not sure how I need to handle that. Ideally, I'd like to have the XM for $77 in the MDX and then add the second unit for $6.99 per month under the family plan.
Do you think I need to drop the XM Roady until I can get the $77 plan in effect?
Any suggestions appreciated. |

| I called on the 18th of September and got the same deal, except it was now $77. Not a problem for me. I picked up my new X last week. They told me that when the 3 month trial was over that my card would be billed and it will start the 12 month period. No problems, no hassles. |

| I called on 09/19 and used the promo code listed in the other thread, and although I was told that code is only valid when XM contacts the customer in an attempt to win them back, he said they would honor it. $77 for the year and it takes effect in October after my trial period runs out (about 30 days left). |

| Ok I just called XM on 9/25 at 5:30PM Central time and received the $77.00 promotion, was ready to give them the credit card and they said they now send out an invoice. My 3 month trial ends Saturday. Just thought I'd share. Chuck |

I CALLED XM TODAY AND MADE SMALL TALK WITH THE OPERATOR AND I FOUND OUT SHE WAS FROM MY HOMETOWN ORIGNALLY. I TOLD HER I WAS CALLING FOR THE XM $77 RENEWAL.
SHE SAID NO PROBLEM AND WHEN SHE ASKED FOR MY CREDIT CARD INFO, I ASKED HER TO BE HONEST WITH ME AND TELL ME WHETHER THIS WAS THE BEST PROMOTION. I TOLD HER I KNEW OF A 60.00 1 YEAR PROMO AND STARTED TO GIVE HER THE CODE MENTIONED EARLIER IN THIS THREAD--SHE SAID I KNOW THAT ONE AND GAVE ME THE 60.00 PROMO. NO TAX EITHER--JUST 60.00--I CONFIRMED IT WITH HER LIKE 3 TIMES.
GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!!:) :( :o :p ;) :D    :1:   :2: :3: :4: |

I called around 8am EST. |

I think I got it for $77.
I called this evening, phone system dumped me twice but I kept calling.
I said I got called about the zwinbackmyp1 code and thought it over and decided I wanted to keep the XM going. He said he was surprised I got a call, but that he would add it to my account and that it would start after my trial.
Then he said wait, it looked like my account was inactive, and he wasn't sure.
He left it that he would send out an invoice for the $77 deal and I should look it over and make sure the radio codes matched, even though I read it off twice to him.
Anyway, he said I should have it, so I guess it worked. |

(it's beyond me why the 1st person couldn't do that :3: )
I had to give her the promo code that I found on another thread - if you need it, it is : ZWINBACK MYP1

Asked a guy about a year subscription promo.
He asked my radio ID and my name.
said "you want a $77/year?"
I said "Yes".
Not gave him a promo code.
I gave him a credit card number.
He said my 1 year subscription will start from the day my 3 munth trial end.
Thanks all for the information.

| Just got off the phone with XM. Operator asked for the code and after saying "zwinbackmyp1", was told that this code extends the service for 1 year at the $77 rate. Now we're good until next year. I hope that next year we'll still be able to use this same code... |

Do they add sales tax to the $77 ?
Did you have to give a CC or can they bill you and send a check ??? |

Not sure if XM charges sales tax or if it's state specific.
I know OnStar charges sales tax in CA . . . |

Hi tim, it seems to be hit or miss whether you can get the promotion or not and whether you can get it during your trial period or if you have to wait until the end of your trial period.
From what I have read, if you do not like the answer you get, hang-up and call back :)

Called today and got the 1 year $77 promo from XM.
They recently invoiced me to continue service for 3 mos @ 38.85 - oh boy, where do I sign. Thing is, I called a different phone #, the one listed on the invoice, 800-643-6032. The cust serv rep tried to sell me on the regular packages, I told the rep about the special promo, he put me on hold for 15 seconds, and then came back and said he could do it. I'll be invoiced for the $77, no tax, and service will continue - uninterrupted. Ah, the power of the Org !!! ;) |

So she signed me up for one year for 77.00 on my credit card. i feel like i was just dealing with the government, or the county, or the state, or the post office , or the school system, or Pg&E, or, or, or, or, or?????????? |

So I will keep my fingers crossed until Feb. when my trial period is over  |

| You guys are too trusting. I refused to give a CC, told them to invoice me and I'll pay by check. This way there are no surprises when your CC stmt comes a month later. Also, they can't arbitrarily charge the card at regular rates when the 1 yr promo is up . . . |

| Call several weeks ago and got the $77 deal on my TL. This time, the first person said it was not offered for the 3month promotional renewal. Bunch of BS. Called back and talked to someone else. She said she couldn't give me the $77 deal, but I was eligible for the family plan rate (more than 1 unit) of $6.99/month or $83.88 a year. Close enough for me. Called the number a few posts up.:) |

It's funny how you can get different responses depending which rep you speak to. I just called to reup after my trial period ends in one month. After I mentioned to the rep about having a promo code, he said "For $77 for 1 year". He signed me up and an invoice will be sent to me. Thank you all for the helpful info.

I have a real dilemma..lol
My 3-month trial period should be up tomorrow (Dec. 3rd) but it seems that the dealer never set the XM on my MDX to expire etc..and never did what they needed to do so my XM Radio "ID" would show up..The person I talked to at XM last night told me that the XM Radio "ID" I get when I go to Channel Zero is the one from the factory that all of the MDX's have. So basically my XM would keep working for months and months since the dealer didnt set it up etc...
The XM person was more than happy to give me the $77 promotional deal but without the Radio "ID" she couldnt set it up for me..I will be calling the dealer today...Crazy stuff |

I agree with g35rocker, just sit back and see what transpires. If your XM still works after the 90 day trial expires - No worries ! I know in my situation, as I got close to the end of the trial period, XM started sending me invoices and recorded phone calls looking for renewal . . . |

I tried a while back before my service expired and was shot down (see my earlier post). Service expired on 1/11/06 - received an automated message on my home answering machine offering $4.99 for the next 3 months. I just called 800-929-2100 and asked for the $77 promo and the XM rep gave it to me with no questions asked although she did charge me a $2 fee to have an invoice sent home. Oh well, it's still better than paying $142.45 for the year (from my original renewal invoice).
I'm looking forward to the drive home today, XM is back!

A $38.85 charge for XM Satellite just appeared on my credit card. Called XM, and they said they charged me for three months as a courtesy, so that my service wouldn't run out. Uh huh. Since I didn't authorize the charge, and I've read this thread, I quite calmly said "$77 special for a year, or I cancel and dispute the charge"
They were very nice, and charged me the additional $38.15 to extend for a full year.

Any specifics on how you secured the discount also most appreciated. I love XM, but at $12.95 a month I wouldn't love it quite as much! |

Great experience...took less than 5 minutes.

'The Code' was given several times earlier in this thread. You just need to call 800-929-2100 and use code ZWINBACKMYP1 and if they wont help you, politely hang up and call back again. I mentioned I had a message on my home answering machine that offered me the code.

Just a quick update.
Purchased my MDX in November 2005 and got the $60/year promotion after the trial period. Used a credit card that I later cancelled so when they tried the automatic renewal trick, the charge obviously didn't go through. Today, my XM service was turned off and I called this evening and got the $77/year promo with no problem and no activation fee.
Later. |

Did they add tax to that? My $77 renewal posted something like $83/84. I always use a single use credit card number from Discover or Citi so nobody can recharge in the future. |

| Good question Mike...I don't know why they are paying more. All I can say is that I stated $60, gave them the promo code (when they asked for it), and I'm good to go for 12 months. I just said I had purchased my Acura 3 months ago and my 90 free days had expired. They said OK and I said "book'em Dan-o" and they did. :2party: |

The promo code was for $60/yr over a year ago. Then it went up to $77/yr. A year ago when I called in to get it, it had just been upped to $77. I said I want $60, so the charged me $77 (they said they had to, was the only option in the system), and the credited my account $17 (cust. adj.) This year I didn't even mention $60, I just said $77, and they did that; as opposed to a letter I received saying that I've been automatically renewed at some $39+tax/qtr  I said either cancel it, or renew it for $77/yr. I guess if I had said $60, and had the right person, I might have gotten that. But also I think you can't use the same promotion twice.... so one at $60, the next at $77 looks different, and the $60 one from a year ago has disappeared from my account record on-line. Now it only shows the first 90 days complementary, a year gap then the $77/yr I just recently did :8: |

ok.... worries over... i didn't have to leave it on and leave it... it activated while i was out there!
sooooo i called... and told the lady i had a coupon code.. she said "you do?????" "for what" and i said "for $77" and she said that's unusual.. they don't usually send them out that soon as i was just disconnected yesterday... but she can't prove or disprove if i have a coupon! so she gave it to me! |

Hello everyone, just wanted to let everyone know that I just signed up for the $77 special. I called on Saturday prepared to give the code from the thread and they didn't even ask for it. I told them I got a letter in the mail offering me $77 for a year and they said okay.

| I just got a renewal notice for my XM radio. I got my MDX way back in August! So I have had XM for about 10 months for free! The renewal is for $12.95/month. I am going to try to get the $77/year package tomorrow. Wish me luck! |

| I just called and asked them for the $77 renewal. I called the number on my statement. It is different than the 2100 number posted here. The operator asked if I had the winback flyer in the mail and I said yes. I didn't need the code and he took care of everything. It should be $77 plus any taxes. I could hear his response in the background before he said anything. He must have been in training and someone was telling him what to say! But I got it! Thanks everyone. |

Hi All:
Called today (6/17) using number and promo code, when asked where I got it said it was left on my answering machine, (which presumably is what will happen anyway from what I can tell) and the guy happily renewed it for the stated $77). Just thought I would let anyone know who was interested..

Has anyone tried to renew their xm after using the $77 in the previous year? Last year I was able to get the $77 rate but when I called to see if I could get it again (my 1 year expires at the end of July), they told me that they saw it on my account and couldn't reapply it.
Anyone have any luck resubscribing with it? |

| I'm not sure if it works for renewals but for those who are activating for the first time, you might consider buying MULTI-year to lock into that promo price. I've been told that works too. |

| A pre-recorded message by XM was left on the machine, but they did not leave any specifics. |

| Tried that but they told me that they didn't have any promos for customers renewing. |
