I just purchased an 05 MDX Touring Navigation. The info. from this board was a huge help. Bought from a dealer in Jacksonville, FL.

Here is the deal...

2005 Acura MDX Touring Navigation - Pearl White, Saddle interior, no other options.

Total with "fees": $39,194.50
Tax: $2,351.67
Tag: $82.00

Out the Door: $41,628.17

What do you think? Give me a grade.

Well, where's our cut? :D

More appropriately, why not contribute a few of those saved dollars to the acuramdx.org fund?

With invoice at $38650, +$570 destination, that's only $545 over invoice. I'd say :2: :2: :2:

Great deal flx!

I thought I had one of the best deals I had seen on this forum and you still beat mine by a couple hundred $!

So what was the "negotiation" process like?

Shootist,
Sounds like a great idea! I actually entertained it for a while, but you gave me the “last kick in the butt”. I bought my car a month ago for invoice (now, I bought ‘04) without help of this forum. But a few days later a found this great place and since then a saved a few hundred dollars on accessories. So, 10% of what I saved just went back to the forum a minute ago. And as I buy more stuff through this forum, 10% of what I will save will continue to go to web master! Not much, but hey... :26:

Thanks for the feedback. I thought I did well, but wanted your opinions.

Shootist - Your 100% right - I owe you guys big. I will definitely contribute.

I worked via the internet. Used Acura's site to send requests to various dealers. I used different zip codes and sent requests to probably 10-12 Acura dealers. I dealt strictly via email, told them exactly what I wanted and that I would be buying the best price within the week. I found FL has two that are fairly large and can deal. Rick Case Acura in Ft. Lauderdale claims to be the biggest in the country. In Jacksonville it's Acura of Orange Park. Ultimately the deal could only be done on an MDX on the lot. If the dealer had to swap with another dealer it cost him more. Once I narrowed to these two dealers: I contacted the "Sales Manager" let him know I was serious, and let the two compete. Once we agreed, I went down to the dealership a couple of days later and within an hour - I was done. No haggle, no pressure, no problems. I looked it over, drove it and they wrote up the paper work.

My advice - use the web. You have every advantage. Don't sit in dealerships playing the "let me get my manager" games. In reality I walked out of 10 dealerships - via email. If you let the sales managers know you’re serious "I'm buying a car this week" they will deal.

If any one wants names or other details send me a PM.

Now if I can keep the wife from finding out til' Christmas. I plan to sneak it in the driveway in the middle of the night. Big red bow and all!

C-YA - Happy Holidays!

fix: Very good info. Do you recall if you tried the dealer in Gainesville? That's where I'm from and am wondering if they were cometitive? Been there many times, but my guess is that they would not be since the dealer own's the Toyota Dealership next door and they are definitely not competitive in price.

Best deal I've heard of. Now you need to join the AWP club. No dues or fees of any kind. Just sign in.
