I have an 04 MDX Touring. I have roughly 1700 miles (mostly hwy). The mileage jumps back and forth from 18.2 to 17.8.....never anything else. This seems odd to me for 2 reasons: A) This mileage sucks for 75% hwy and B) What gives with jumping back and forth to these 2 numbers? I have yet to see 18 even, or 17.9, etc.
Any ideas or am I really getting this bad mileage? I drive it like a 90 year old woman. |

I think it is normal, since it is only 0.4 mpg difference.
But more to your questions....
a) The milages does look sucks for 75% of highway driving on your 04 mdx. But this will totally depends on how you accelerate and stopping the car. I am average more than 19mpg with 50/50 city/hwy driving on my 02 mdx.
b) Why not write down the actual driving milage and gallons of gas on each fill up. Then divide them to get actual mpg. This will show more accurate mpg. |

I guess I will calculate the actual milage. I was expecting much better miilage from the MDX. I am real light on the gas pedal to boot, but hopefully it is an error with the computer.
I've been a Jeep driver my whole life and it was between the "05 Grand Cherokee and the '04 MDX....mileage was the reason I went w/ the MDX, but it now looks like a wash. I'm not dissapointed at all, but I do feel a little duped. Oh well...all heresay until I do the math manually. |
