Hi first post on this board
04 mdx touring/nav. also includes running boards, woodgrain options of wheel knob and cluster. wheel flares, front flare and rear spoiler.
was demo car and has 14.5k on it. Buying as new so no extended warranty.
$37,400. Sounds high to me but does include about 3k in options which eventually become worthless
Also my trade is a 02 yellow/black nsx-t with 20k on it. They are offering 56.5k
Have not made deal yet. I have countered with 1,000 off both ends and have the car for the evening and we are to finish negotiation in the morning so any help would be cool
Thanks

| Remember those 3K in options are at stealer list! Probably more like $1500 when you get down to it. I would consider this a used car and go from there. Personally I wouldn't buy a demo. You have no idea what it's been through. I think for a couple grand more you could get a new 05! Good luck. |

I would walk away from this. No, wait...RUN.
Not enough of a discount, as this is a used car at 14,000 miles.
14,000 miles not likely to be gently driven. |

I sorta think that a demo is going to be the most "beat on" vehicle at a dealership.
As an example, my next door neighbor (who by the way has an 04 MDX) is shopping for a sedan. The salesguy at the Audi store takes him for a "test drive" and the WHOLE TIME the salesguy is saying "push it, give it more, great power, huh?" Now my neighbor is TOTALLY turned off by this and was basically just looking at Audi as replacement for his VERY high mile Lexus ES, and WAS intrigued by the "all weather " idea of an Audi, now he knows he doesn't want one becuase a) the ride was a turn off b) he wants something safe (he has four kids) not a race car...
Moral of the story -- if most salesguy encourage driving the demo like that guy who knows what will blow up. |

thanks for the replies. I might sound foolish but I am interested on the premise of the car is not beat up. Assuming it is not, It sounds like people feel the car is still to high.
Any other replies are still appreciated |

DONT BUY A DEMO CAR WITH 14.5K ON IT!!!!! THATS JUST BLOWING YOUR INVESTMENT AWAY....especially when you are not given a extended warranty. You have NO IDEA what people do to those demos....like 1k would equal to 30k of conventional driving.....not worth it..... |

I don't like the sound of this deal. Damn nice car you're giving up and taking less on the net deal. Considering the navi was about $40k even not long ago it doesn't seem like a bargain. The only good option is the spoiler. If you really want to do this, I'd only pay for the options you want.
Man, 14,5 ? Just don't think I could do it. Was this a loaner as well ? The Lexus dealer here gave out a lot of RX300 loaners and when I looked at used ones, it was painfully obvious. Way more wear than ones that were probably program cars. |

| Just did a quick KBB look up on the nsx. I got $58,110 for a trade in. Not knowing what you have exactly, I used the default values and good condition. I also used my zip code (des moines). YMMV. |

| I agree with everyone above. I dont think saving a couple of thousand dollars is worth buying a demo.....especially with that many miles on it. Price seems pretty high. |

I bet you didn't count on this much feedback!
Considering a brand spanking new '05 touring w/nav has an invoice of $38,080, and you should be able to get close to that this week or next (end of month/end of year/sales quota time/best deals), a very used '04 at only slightly less sucks. Fax 10-15 dealers with your wants and ask them to bid their best deal. Don't settle on one deal before you hear several more. There are plenty of MDXs out there, make them beg for your business!:6: |

That's hard to do when you've only got 2 dealers in the area, unless you want to drive 150 miles. You people out east and CA have it made. :) End of the month, quarter and year helps, but not as good as Acura's fiscal year end which is March 31st and about halfway through the model year. |

Well I passed on the 04 and with the 2.9% financing have moved to the 05
touring/nav 40,200
touring nav/dvd 41,300
These deals seem to be average of what people are getting. this was presented to me on the way out of the dealership. I told him I would research and get back to him. seems I can do 500-700 better from what others are getting
Any other comments on thses prices |

yes, your right bdmd. it was a poor choice of wording (calling it an "investment") since these cars are always depreciating assets. thanks for spotting this. i typed too fast without revision. |
