Okay. I'm trading in my 2002 for a 2005 (taking delivery next tuesday). I've been running Sylvania Silver Stars for my highs and lows and I love them (except for the fact that the lows last only nine months). Will these bulbs (9005s and 9006s) fit the 2005 housings? Also, I'm running PIAA Yellow Ion Plasma fogs. Can I swap these out too? I read somewhere (here) that PIAA doesn't recommend using their fog bulbs in MDX fog housings because of heat issues.

Any suggestions or recommendations??

The '05 uses H11 low beam bulbs (rather than 9006). Highs are 9005 and fogs are 9006.
The 9005's have two little plastic ridges inside the connector; the 9006 has one.

Thanks to Phins2 for a bit of editorial checking.

Thanks, shootist.
I guess I'll leave the highs stock (until there is a decent aftermarket H11) and keep running the Silver Star 9006s and PIAA fogs.

Shootist,
With all due respect, I think you are incorrect. 04/05s use H11 for lows, 9006 for fogs and 9005 for highs. I am almost positive that is correct. Anyone dispute this??

I had used the Piaa's from Japan in my fog's and loved them BUT they did discolor the silver filament in the center of the fog maybe the deflector had become a rainbow color and an orange color instead of the silver (Also a short life on the Piaa's). I'm presently replacing both fog lens and was able to get Acura to pick up for 50% of the cost because I'm in the extended warranty which doesn't cover the fog len's. Now running the Philiips Bluevision and hope they don't discolor the new lens.

I just removed the PIAA (fog) bulbs from my old car and I noticed that they are, indeed, longer than the stock bulbs. Now I'm freaked out. They hadn't discolored the reflectors or melted the lens (I use them very infrequently) but I'm uncomfortable about putting them in my new car. Does anyone have any recommendations for a bright yellow fog replacement that is safe to use in the MDX?

How about H11 replacements? Is there anything out there that's worth trying? I read the posts about the Hoens but it sounds like it's more of a case of color change as opposed to increased brightness.

It's going to be tough to find a bulb as Yellow as those Piaa's. Look for an aftermarket 2500K bulb if possible to find. The Silverstars were pretty yellow compared to my 6000K HID's but not nearly as cool looking as the Piaa's. I've changed my opinion and now are trying to get the fogs to look as much like my HID as possible. I like the Phillips Bluevision. Good luck with the search for a good aftermarket 2500K yellow bulb, let me know if you find one.
