I bought my OEM all weather floor mats with my 2005 MDX in Nov. I just put them in and noticed there is a missing corner near the driver's foot rest area. The carpet floor mat goes up to the end of the foot rest but the all weather floor mat missed a small corner compare to the carpet floor mat. I asked my sales man and he said that is the way it comes, I am wondering if everyone has the same experience and why that corner is missing?

davidling,
That is the way the OEM all weather floor mats are cut. For better coverage of the "dead foot" area, you may want to go with WeatherTech or Huffy Floor Liners. Good luck.:29: |

| Just found out today that the floor mats for '05 have been changed to address that space by the dead foot pedal and also a minor change on the second row mat (behind the passenger seat). |

For the 2005 set, are the 2nd row mats one piece or two?
Thanks! |

| my factory weather mats for my 05 mdx have a 1 piece second row. |

| Mine is one piece |

| Yeah, the second row mat is still one piece. What I meant in my post was that the old mat doesn't fit perfectly in the area directly behind the passenger seat, it rides up slightly on the pillars attaching the seat to the floor. |

To BostonX:
Do you have a new part# for the 2005 OEM all weather floor mat that address the missing deadfoot issue. I asked my salesman at the Acura dealer and he said there is no difference between 2005 and 2005 all weather floor mat, even the part # are the same. I think usually those sales guys are not very up to speed on things and if I can have a new part #, then he can probably order it for me.
Thanks |

On my 2004 MDX - I just have the carpeted floor mats, and carpet on the raised ridge an inch or so to the right of the dead pedal seems to be wearing very quickly. This just drives me nuts - here's well built vehicle, good for 10 years or more, and the carpet is good for 6 months only.
Does the OEM all-weather mat cover the dead pedal *and* the ridge/wear point to the right, or would I be better off with Weathertech? I don't want to spend a bunch of money on the OEM mat and find that it does not cover the entire dead pedal area. If the OEM mat is best - is there in fact a difference between 2004 and 2005 mats - and will the 2005 mat fit a 2004?
Thanks,

| The drivers side Weathertech covers most of the dead pedal area. As a result, it doesn't lay quite flat. |

| Passenger side lies flat, without the dead pedal: |

| Shootist - thanks for the quick reply. Here is the wear I was talking about. Embarassing how much stuff is in the foot well, but that's life! |
