Anybody? The 05s have been out for over 2 months now! I would think if there were problems we would have seen them by now! :2:
Randy,
I think it is a bit too early for this question. I am not even sure there has been any issues with the 04s. |

Randy,
Have you ever heard of tar and feathers?
Introduce yourself to a group of proud (and hopeful) 05 MDX owners like that, and you may.

I guess I should have explained my situation. (new to this) In the next few days I will be picking up my new MDX. After reading about all the transmission trouble Acura is having I became concerned about the reliability of my new car.
Perhaps it is to early to tell, I was just wondering if there are any early signs of transmission failure. |

The odds are in your favor. Still most of us with tens of thousands of trouble-free miles on 01 and 02 models, which have a greater potential for problems than more recent models.
Acura/Honda make very reliable vehicles. But as the Walgreen ad says, "..we don't live in a town called Perfect..." |

But don't believe us- this site will attract both the MDX enthusiast, and the really pissed off MDX owners who just had a big mechanical breakdown. As a result, you hear some of us (the enthusiasts) say its the best vehicle in the world, and you also hear a concentration of transmission failures from the really pissed off owners.
Check out Consumerreports.org and JD Powers for their reliability ratings. Consumer reports rates it very highly for reliability and other. JD Power rates it 3 out of 5- they like the RX330 better. MSN Autos rates the reliability of the MDX with 5 stars- the only gig they award is for the EGR valve.
Then, just for chuckles, check out the thread here about Dodge Dakota: "Drive it till the Wheels fall Off" . IT has nice pictures of Dakotas with the front wheels fallen off. |
