After about 3.5 weeks of delay and numerous lame excuses by customer service, Last night I finally received the plod kit for my 2005 MDX. As soon as I opened the kit, I was horrified by the poor finish quality of the kit and the materials used. The kit also arrived very dirty and the internal packaging of the pieces was very lousy.

Anyway I tried to install it and let me tell you....what followed was an absolute horror story.:1pat: None of the pieces had a good finish (there was glue sticking out all over the place on the exterior side) and most important none of them fitted perfectly. The sizes were were way out of place and they looked horrible after installation. Also the glue that they use is very poor and the pieces were so dirty that I had use cleaning material to clean them up before the install. I tried one piece at a time and ended up immediately removing it. Halfway through the install, after about 2 hours and numerous unsuccessful attempts, I ended up throwing away the whole kit. I removed (threw) away all the pieces and thoroughly cleaned up my car. This kit is tacky and totally useless. There is nothing exotic about this kit. It looks bland, has a very poor build quality and looks awful inside your car. In comparison the Acura wood trim panel that I installed looks much better (classy) in terms of finish, craftsmanship and build quality.


To summarize, this is how I feel about buying this kit (a.k.a "piece of crap") :banghead:
I strongly encourage others not to buy or even look at this kit.

:readit: Never buy aftermarket accessories from unreliable places like exoticwooddash...Always buy the stuff certified and sold by Acura (a.k.a Tim/hondacuraworld) only. The only exception to this rule is Steve's Xenondepot Kit. That is the best use of $520 for your MDX. I strongly recommend folks to buy their stuff from Tim and Steve only. It is an absolutely pleasure doing business with these guys.

I TRIED TO TELL EVEYONE BUT THE MODERATOR THREW MY THREAD IN "DOLLARS AND SENSE" AND THEN TOLD ME HE HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE SCAM COMPANY ! I too was VERY disappointed with my experience with their DEAD saleslady and poor quality product ! :3: :3: :3: :3:

For the record they shipped the wrong product (Color) and charged me to mail it back before they would send the correct one ! Manager refuses to credit my account for 10 bucks ! AVOID THIS COMPANY LIKE FLIES ON COW SH$T ! :3: :3: :mad: :mad:

I'm feeling very guilty now. Now there's at least 2 people on this forum that have bad experiences with this company.

Fabvsix: I submitted a long reply to your thread in "Dollars & Sense".

I have had 2 good buying experiences with these people, but not without them having to correct some mistakes they made. I did find their salespeople to be a bit curt and unprofessional on my most recent purchase, but they have corrected their errors.

I wrote a long full explanantion in "Dollars & Sense" with all the details of my 2 buying experiences.

There are other companys that sell the same stuff- they can be found with a simple internet search.

Last I checked, expressing an opinion and an experience with a company (that I clearly indicated I did business with 4 years ago) doesn't make someone a shill. Just like no one is accusing you of being a shill for their competitors.

It sounds like they've gone to hell in a handbasket.

Like I said in the other thread, tell them to pound sand and dispute the credit card charge.

Simple.
