Hello Guys,
Can someone let me know if my warranty will be void after I install running board by myself.
I bought an 2005 MDX last week. and then I got a brand new ACUAR running board thru internet (LYNWOOD ACURA) and deciding to install it by myself.
Will that void my bumper to bumper warranty?

Read the instructions carefully and install away. Installng running boards is a great DIY project. It does take some time, but the savings are worth it. Your warranty should be fine, especially since you are using Acura running boards. Good luck.:29: |

Acura offers a small incentive to "load-up on delivery" -- if you get ANY Acura accessories added when you first pick-up your vehicle they will warrany the accessory for the warranty length of whole vehicle (either the standard warranty or even the optional extended warranty).
Of course there is NO WAY installing running boards (Acura or aftermarket) would do anything to the OVERALL vehicle warranty. The mounting hole are part of the vehicle's standard design and there are laws that would prevent Acura from saying add-ons nullify the warranty.

| Nothing will happen to warranty. There is no real way for Acura to track if you had the accesories installed afterwards or before delivery. |

Actually, as long as the installation is done by an Acura dealer, it doesn't have to be when you first pick up the vehicle to be covered under the vehicle warranty...
From the '03 manual (see the third section: Accessories Installed by the Dealer After Retail Sale) :quote:
Accessory Limited Warranty
This warranty applies to any accessory distributed by American
Honda and purchased from an Acura automobile dealer in the
United States, Puerto Rico, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Time and Mileage Period
Accessories Installed Prior to Retail Sale: This warranty
begins on the same date as the New Vehicle Limited Warranty
(see page 11). All accessories are covered for the length of the
New Vehicle Limited Warranty: 4 years or 50,000 miles,
whichever comes first.
Accessories Installed by the Dealer After Retail Sale: This
warranty begins on the date the accessory is installed on the
vehicle. All accessories are covered for the longer of the
following two periods:- The time remaining in the New
Vehicle Limited Warranty,
or
- 1 year or 12,000 miles, whichever
comes first,
Accessories Not Installed by an Acura Dealer: This
warranty begins on the date the accessory is purchased from an
Acura dealer. All accessories are covered for 1 year.

| I doubt any dealer will even bother to check who installed an Acura accessory if something comes up with it, while the cars warranty is still valid. |
