For a $100,000 auction they could have gotten a better picture of the seal. It looks like a cell phone camera. As a finders fee for anyone on this board that wins, I get to drink half the contents.

Wouldn't it taste like crap by now?

I would think it's all about the bottle. Intact can't hurt. But I don't think you're drinking that.

The bottle is from 1936 but the contents were from the 1800s. I take it from the other posts that Cognac does not get better with age?

I do not drink the stuff but my dad and his friends do. It must be an ASIAN thing.

For Christmas I bought him a Remy Martin Crystale. Nice looking bottle. No where near as old as the bottle showned on EBAY. Cost me almost 400 bills.

Thinking back..what a freakin waste of money.

My dad past away last October at the age of 57, he loved cognac... If I could bring him back, I would buy the entire freaking liqueur store, let alone $400 bottle... Think twice Fireblade, before saying that you wasted your money.

Very well said. I know where you are coming from.
