If this has been discussed before, can someone show me a link. Got my X last week and I'm still awed by this magnificent ride.
Only thing on the manual is:
< 600 miles - not to accelerate too fast
< 200 miles - not to do hard braking
What will happen if this is not followed? I had to do an abrupt slow down last night when the traffic suddenly slowed down on the freeway. :3:
What others else do i need to do OR not do? :confused: |

Re: the sudden stop that was done---> that is what brakes are for and you need to use them if circumstances so dictate.
Common sense driving for the 1st 1000 miles should be adequate for any new vehicle. This implies no racing of other new SUV's and/or Corvettes in the 1st 1000 miles? |

Don;t change the oil before the recommended interval-it has more moly in it to help break in.
I love the part about "don't apply brakes too hard during the first 200 miles". May help the brakes, but it's hell on the front bumper. |

| One of the more helpful things for the engine is to vary engine rpms for the first 5-600 miles. For example, if cruising at 70 mph for a couple hundred miles, shift every five-ten minutes between D5 and D4 -- maybe even D3 now and then. :trustme: |

This might actually works. I did this on my 97 Prelude. The first time I changed the front breaks on her was 85K miles; the rear breaks at 92K miles. :D
