Has anyone gone through any mountains and noticed the Nav and or Bluetooth disconnections or anything like that ?

Meaning I have family in TN, but my cell phone does not work in the moutains. Will having it linked to the MDX Nav increase the connection any?

Does the Nav work in the mountains or will it lose connection as well ?

Bluetooth is a short range connection between your hand held cell phone and the car's microphone and speakers. You're still broadcasting through a hand held cellphone limited to 300 mw.
OnStar, on the other hand, is an independent cell phone that uses an aerial on the roof. It is not limited to 300mw, and so may broadcast a stronger signal. Either way, if a mountain is blocking your line of sight to a tower, you will not get through.
Navigation locks onto up to 12 satellites overhead. Unless you're driving in a steep mountain pass, you'll probably always "see" at least a few satellites, so Nav will probably work. It works in the canyons of New York City, but sometimes it's slow to update the direction of the vehicle.
XM is fairly sensitive to anything blocking a view to the one XM satellite, which is very low on the southern horizon. I get XM dropouts when I'm north of a hill, especially in certain weather.
