Did anyone replace the front door tweeters (as part a component system). I am having cold feet, yet I am looking at the Infinity Kappa Perfect 6.1 for the front and the 63.5 for the rear. So I would love to install/replace the tweeters as the existing location seems ideal.

I got some Polk components for the front. The shop cut into the plastic trim in the stock location. Then glued the perimeter of the little cup/holder thing, and then the tweeter went into that cup. Then they put the grill back on and everything looks stock.

It's easy to replace the front tweeters- however, installing and wiring in the crossovers is a pain in the back. Component systems always have a crossover box to separate the signals for the mid bass and tweeter. They shouldn't be installed in the doors, where its wet. That means you interupt the wiring to the doors in the dash, then run two new pairs of wires to the tweeter and mid bass. You have to snake these two pairs of wires through the rubber boot between the door and dash, and that's a real pain for the amateur.
