First let me say this board is great.
Second, Had the X for almost a month, been installing acc. like crazy.
Noticed last weekend, the spare is flat, it's leaking, so instead of getting it fixed I'd rather have a full size spare. Have never liked the spacesaver spares.
Anyone sell a steel wheel/tire combo for the MDX?
Appreciate the help.

Welcome
Good idea to have a full size spare, I got one,
picked it up at a scrap yard.
Check them out first, within your area. |

| Keep a eye out here for someone selling a spare rim then just buy the corresponding tire to you MDX. Or Look on ebay and follow the same route. Or if you can't wait call Tim. Most MDXers including me have put in a FSS as opposed to the donut. |

I can get a aluminum MDX rim from the dealer @ cost, just don't want to put that much coin into a spare.
I'll look around some junkyards for something that will interchange.
Thanks

I got a Full size spare from Tim.. I think it's 350 total for the same rim and same tire for the touring.
So, first go find it in ebay or junkyards.. if they don't have it.. get it from Tim.
Trust me.. 350 is a good price!

Actually, if you are not in a the big hurry... I have a wheel for you. I just paid for a set of custom wheels and will have 3 original MDX 04 Premium wheels for sale in about a week. (I will keep one for my own spare). They have been used for about two months, so almost brand new. You will have to get your own tire, but... how much is new wheel from Tim? $200 i believe? Well, how's $70 for mine? Drop me a PM if you are interested. I should be able to ship in about two weeks. I did not want to post "for sale" in classifieds until I get new set, but since we are on the subject...

Is there a difference between the premium wheels and the touring wheels?

| Here is a quick comparison I just created. Obviously the large wheel is Premium 04 and small one is Touring 04. They are somewhat similar (they both are round and five spokes), but you can see the difference. Thank you. :D |

Not interested CTPYHA. Thanks for the offer. Mine is an 01.
As I said, I can get one @ cost from Acura for around $140.
I checked the bolt pattern and its 5 on 4 1/4.
I'm running by the junkyard this afternoon. Think I've found a steel one.

I am also interested in a full size spare for my 2003 MDX - Touring.
My guess is that rotating a spare for regular use does not make sense.
That said, are there any differences between the rims that would affect the performance / safety of the vehicle?
If for example, I bought an '04 premium wheel, are they the same weight and size as the '03? Will it take the same type of tire?
Thanks! |

Yes aligouri. All years are the same size wheel/tire. I have an 02 Premium FSS on my 03. |

I still have ONE left ...
Believe it or not, I already have buyers for two, but one wheel is still for sale. But, as I stated before - it will be about two weeks before I can deliver... PM me, if you want it. Thanks.

I like the looks of the Premium better than my Touring.

For people who really want to get a cheap "spare"-
get a 16" steel wheel for $40 (brand new at America's Tire Co), then find the cheapest 16" tires (store manager found a used one for me for $20): total $60. I have used it once. It looks like spare, but it's supposed to be a spare anyway. I hate doing 5 wheel rotations. Just a thought:cool: |
