Took my 2001 MDX in for the third time to the dealership to report this "jerking" that was occuring when i tried to maintain a consistent speed of 40mph. I rode with the technician this time so that we could try to duplicate the problem. (I should have drove) Of course, he still could not duplicate the jerking effect happening in the car.
When we got back, he said he would check the EGR, 2nd gear replacemnt done, etc... of course, still nothing.. Everything looked good... Until when we were ready to leave and he described the problem to his manager and his manager said, "Oh, we just had a guy with the same issue, but his occurred at 20mph." "Yeah, he had to get a new transmission."
What is upsetting is that it seems this problem is rampant and they still have not notified the customers. I only have 37K miles and need a new transmission.. My 1992 Chevy Stepside Pickup truck has over 175K miles and still has the same transmission.
They did give me a loaner TSX to drive until they can "duplicate" the problem.. So who knows how long I will be in the TSX... I'm really considering getting another vehicle, but this one is already paid for...
:(
Something else I noticed with my MDX... when it rains, it seems as if you don't have full control of the car... as if it wants to go into a skid.... |
