OH Bob
Why does this board have so many members who do not post a name or location?

I take offense when reading a questioning post from someone who does not have enough respect for this board or it's members to even divulge their location. Some of these so called members ask questions that entail a lot of effort on the part of others to answer, while the questioning party may not even live in this hemisphere. While it would not appear necessary for one to give their address, they should at least give their state or providence, etc. in order to be granted membership.

As a newbie to this board, I find this omission of location (by apparent members) to be ill mannered and RUDE!

OH Bob,

You are entitled to feel anyway you choose. A member listing his/her location is a matter of choice and not rudeness. Just relax, go with the flow of information, and enjoy your MDX.:4:
OH Bob
Excalibur,

I strongly non-concur. Location should be a member requisite!

Having said that, how can I enjoy an MDX that I haven't yet acquired?:(

Incidentally, what's your location?:)

OH Bob,

Okay...Too bad...USA.:29:

This is pretty funny. It sort of makes sense too; like I would be way less inclined to take snow driving advise from someone living in Florida. And I might take the opinion of tire choices if someone lived near my area.

However, I don't think it's "rude" though if one chooses not to post their location.

Well, Oh Bob, everybody's entitled to their own opinion, and everyone's opinion is welcomed. Even very unusual opinions.

And when you do get your MDX, you'll see the light of peace, love, and happiness! Welcome to the party.

Welcome Bob,

Whereabouts are you from in OHIO? I live in the greater Toledo area. Tell us about your shopping and buying experience. This board is a wonderful community with a wealth of knowledge. Enjoy!:welcome:

The only thing I ever have issue with as admin and founder of www.audiokarma.org is people refusing to put in their birthdate. People don't realize it, but it is federal law that people under the age of 13 cannot post on forums without parental consent (COPPA regulations).

So, if people don't put in the info, I ban them.......because I have to.

OH Bob
Mullysalt,

Thanx for the welcome! I live SW, in the Dayton-Springfield area.

I've not yet concluded negotiations on an 05 Mdx, primarily due to the trade-in. Current offers have been below Kelley BlueBook trade-in prices, so I'm shopping around for more motivated buyers.

I'll post my results under the appropriate subject, when finished. Hopefully by mid Feb:)

What if I live in Florida, but regularly take my X on long trips somewhere in mountains where the is a lot of snow? Will you take my advise on tires then?

I think requesting a location is unreasonable. Members post questions because then want to see answers. All members exist, I am sure! This board is busy enough for admin not to create bogus members to make it look populated.

Can't you just ask them if they are over the age of 13. You don't have to know their age. Certainly, no one would object to that!!

BTW, I'm at least 13 and an half.

Maybe, but I would "be way less inclined" to do so.

04mdx4sq,

you did not become a contributor using bogus money I hope, did you?! :p

CTPYHA, now by "bogus money".......you didn't mean Canadian money did you? Ha ha....just playing to all the Canucks out there.

OH Bob,
Don't let it bother you that much. This is a great forum with great members. I guess people have a right to their privacy. And don't worry about Excalibur, he isn't hiding anything. He from the same place I was born and raised ('Land of the thongs'-j/k).

BTW-I noticed you have a miata too. The two vehicles complement each other well.
DaleB
The subject has come up before, with never so much contraversy.
Sometimes when a member posts about a problem with their vehicle or dealer, you may be able to assist them better if you know where they live.
Beyond that it is just nice to know if it is a neighbor. There is a certain degree of camaraderie here too.
But we are all entitled to our privacy. That means different things to different people as you can see by locations, lack of locations, avatars, pictures, etc.

What would be cool is if each member posted pics of their MDX in their personal gallery section. That way, we could at least associate the car to the person regardless of where they live.

Anyone interested?

Since you are from my hometown, and one of the greatest cities in the world, I can agree with that. :4:

Ok, Lacostacal, I just did. So, I guess you can associate my guitar on the left with my ride now...
