HAVASU named after
I would think you want nice shiny chrome wheels.
Powder coated wheel are kind of wrong.
I supposed you could get something with a machined surface, though few aftermarket makers bother with those.
Good Luck! |

The lug pattern is 5 x 114.3. The stock rims are 17" diameter by 6.5" width. Most people who switch to 20" rims go with 20x8.5. There are some with 9" width as well. Two of the most common tire sizes are 275/45/20 or 265/45/20.
You should check out www.superbuytires.com. Their site lists hundreds of brands of wheels so you can check out which wheels you'd like, but I don't think their prices are that great. You can use them as a starting point. I think www.usatireandwheeloutlet.com has some of the cheapest prices. They may not have a huge selection on their website but call them. I believe they can order just about anything. They're in Sacramento, CA.
Good luck. |

To add to what MDXtacy said, if you have an America's Tire close by, ask them if they can price match www.usatireandwheeloutlet.com . This is what I did and their sevice has been great too. YMMV.
One more thing, make sure you get the right hubcentric rings for your rims. Good luck. |

How does it work if you change out the rims on an '05 with the tire pressure sensors?
Can the tire pressure sensors be installed on/inside any kind of rim? I figure it's some kind of electronic gizmo. Anyone know how it works?
If you change the rims and don't use the tire pressure sensors will the four orange "idiot" lights on the dash constantly remain on? |

When I put aftermarket rims on my X, I ordered a set of TPMS valve stems and sensors from Tim at Hondacuraworld and had them installed in my new rims so I could keep the stock wheels as is for an easy swap back. If you want, you could remove the sensors from you stock wheels and install them on the new wheels. They consist of valve stems and a lightweight sensor mounted inside the rim. I believe if you don't have the wheels sensors installed, your TPMS light on the dash would stay on. I'm not too technical but I believe they are just wireless transmitters. If one component is not there, the light will come on.
You do have to check to see if the new wheels you're getting, has a large enough opening for these special TPMS valve stems. I believe your wheel shop would be able to tell you if they fit.
Here's the link to buy the sensors: http://www.hondacuraworld.com/Merch...egory_Code=AMDX |
