What is the opinion on some of these air intakes? Get what you pay for? Do they make a difference without any other engine mods?

I've got a cheapo one on my Integra and whether or not there's an increase in power, it definitely sounds "throatier", or at least I think it does.

They mostly help when used with a hopped up exhaust system.
Otherwise just minor gains and more 'noise'.
Lots of lots of discussion on here with regards to intake systems, filters, etc. Our own 'manus1980' builds and sells custom ones also.
Do searches on 'intakes' and 'air filters'. Should keep you busy.

Dale, I've read most of the threads on intakes. It's just that these seem to be the first ones I've seen that are actually (or at least claim to be) made for the MDX.

Well, there is nothing that magic about making them fit 'most' cars. But some seem to use more restricted tubing (smaller diameter).
I think you will find they are not made for the MDX, but made so they will ALSO fit an MDX.

pcgold,

MAGNUSON MOSS WARRANTY ACT

US Code - Title 15, Chapter 50, Sections 2301-2312

Legally, a vehicle manufacturer cannot void the warranty on a vehicle due to an aftermarket part unless they can prove that the aftermarket part caused or contributed to the failure in the vehicle (per the Magnuson Moss Warranty Act (15 U.S.C. 2302(C)) . For best results, consider working with performance-oriented dealerships with a proven history of working with customers. If your vehicle manufacturer fails to honor emission/warranty claims, contact EPA at (202) 260-2080 or www.epa.gov. If federal warranty protection is denied, contact the FTC at (202) 326-3128 or www.ftc.gov.
