Anyone interested in forming a fantasy baseball league in yahoo?
I've never commished a league before but have participated in many and can do it. If anyone is more experienced, and would like to commish, I'd be happy to participate. |

| It sounds like a fine idea. We need to recruit managers. I have vast experience with Yahoo! so I can set it up if we can generate some interest. |

| There'd probably be more interest if more people saw it. Maybe I should post it in General Discussions? |

Well, sheeeeeet, if Mully's in, I gotsta get in . . .
I'll sign up if it's NL only, no offense, but I don't pay no mind to the Jr circuit . . .
Seriously, I'll play if you want to set up an NL only league. If you do NL only, 4x4 or 5x5, we'll only need 10 owners to have a competitive league - but no more than 14 . . . |

I'm not sure that's an option on Yahoo, I'll check. Yahoo is free, I'll look around a bit.
socal, one way around the NL deal is if you only draft NL players. I usually end up with around 80% NL players in mixed leagues anyway. |

| Yahoo allows NL only or AL Only or ML. I'm down for NL only... |
|
|
| laborlitigator |
| I'm in but I'm for AL |
|

| Once we get enough people we can debate the merits of AL or NL or mixed. If we have 10-12 teams mixed would be the ticket or else we'll have too many scrubs on our teams. |

| How about if we have a mixed league and laborlitigator only picks AL players, socalJD only picks NL players, so they balance each other out...:jester: |

rollsf,
That's a great idea. Who is it for you A's or Giants? |
|
|
| laborlitigator |
| BTW, you've got to explain to me how to play. . . |
|

We will more than likely have a 5x5 league. Which means five stat categories for pitching and five for hitting. The stat categories in a 5x5 normally for pitching are:K's, Wins, Saves, ERA and WHIP(walks plus hits divided by innings pitched) and for hitters:Runs, RBI, HR, Steals and batting average.
i.e.-The guys you want on your team are the guys who put up good numbers in as many of those 5 stat categories as possible.
any questions so far? |

I know this is blasphemy for most purists but I root for both. The only time it's really mattered (I don't consider interleague matchups to really matter) was in the '89 world series. I rooted for the A's then. |

| I'll give it a shot |

I'm spending some vacation time in the Bay Area in April and plan on going to a couple A's and Giants game. Can't wait, I already have some nice D cell batteries to chuck at Barry. JK ;) |
