Just got a 2001 MDX. All codes were errased. I just got the
radio code from dealer. What is the situation with the NAV sys.
Do you need a pin to access system ?
What about the DVD disc. How do I know I have one in the player.
How to activate system? Code screen just comes up.
Is there a fee to run the GPS ? Or can you run the map program
only? Thanks for any info. |

I would get with the person you bought the car from to ask about systems operation.
No fee for Navigation/GPS system. The GPS system is run by the US govt for all to use as they want.

| I'd check to see if the NAV disc is even installed. That is a start. I believe the dealership can give you codes if you have the VI Number?. |

Ironwolf, I just bought an 01 w/nav last month. You should have received a separate navigation manual, since this is an option and nav is not standard. I don't believe you need a code to access system. You do need PIN numbers to access two personal lists of up to 50 addresses each located within system. System should turn on when you start engine. Touch OK at bottom of screen and you are in. The dvd is under the front passenger seat.
My X had the original dvd. I am anxiously awaiting the arrival tomorrow of the latest version 2.2 I ordered. |

If you find a significant difference, please let us 01-02 owners know. Most of us are still limping along with the original. Not to say that is a bad thing. :4: |
