We just sold my parent's 02 and bought a 05, and I have the 9006 HIDs left over from their X. I already have H11 HIDs right now for my lows, and I'm considering installing the 9006 for my fogs.

For those members who have installed HIDs for the fogs....is it worth it or is it overkill?

I mean how much light do you need??

The fogs are too low to throw light more than a little bit ahead...

kimsta,

I've stated a few times on this forum and I'll do it again. For my 04 MDX, I feel that there was much more improvement in upgrading the fog to HID than there was with the H11 upgrade.

Obviously it doesn't make sense to just upgrade the HID to fog only but in your situation, I would just throw the HID in the fog as well. For one thing, you are probably not going to get much for your used 9006 kit as HID kits have come down in price.

Let's put it this way, there are times when I feel that my H11 upgrade was not worth the money but I never question that with the fog upgrade. I don't use my fog 100% of the time but when I do, it makes a world of a difference!

BTW, if you decide to sell the kit, PM me. I may be interested for the right price cause I will put that on my TL fog.

Thanks vlam.....you convinced me. I think I'm going to put them on. Sorry renov8er.

Point of information:

Check out threads about aiming fog lights: It is quite simple and once aimed properly, they do help.

I aimed mine - originally they were about 6 feet in front of my car! - and once properly aimed they are very helpful.

I decided to sell my HIDs. I rarely use my fogs so there is no point of installing them.

Here is the thread:
