Very nice. How much is the monitor and how big is the screen? |

| That'd be a 20" Cinema Display. Resolution of 1680 X 1050 with 0.258 dot pitch and a response time of 16ms. Cost me $899. |

I was going to get one of those today until I read this http://www.amug.org/amug-web/html/a...cles/dell20lcd/ and some other reviews of it when its used with a PC. Then was going to order the 20.1 Dell and saw the 24 on their page. :8: |

Let me say, first of all, that monitor is sponsored by my employer B-)
I actually had the Dell FP2001 monitor before I got the Apple Cinema Display. The Dell is a VERY, VERY good monitor and was working amazingly well. If I had to buy one for myself I'd certainly get that considering the price difference.
However, having used both with PowerMac G5s, I can tell you that, to my eye, the quality of the ACD was just a little better when running certain applications. People who know way more than I do in these things told me that was because of refresh rate and response times of NEC displays that is used by Apple. Plus the widescreen ratio is a blessing with developer application that have numerous palette that you can arrange nicely without sacrificing the main editor's real estate. |
